Brake Issue
« on: 12 May 2011, 18:46 »
I changed my front discs/pads 13/4/10 and rear discs/pads 22/2/10, just recently the brakes feel alittle different, almost like I have to press alittle harder. Also I am a squeak when the brakes are depressed only momentarily when you lightly apply foot.

I am also getting a sound that I can only describe as when you torque wheel nuts, that kind of cracking like metal meeting metal. It is not sqeaking/squealing the pads look brand new almost the discs are hardly even worn and are wearing evenly.I have checked brake fluid levels ok. I understand it could be all manner of possible problems, but I have done about 7k on these discs/pads, not thrashed car etc, so 7k easy miles. There is probably nothing wrong at all, all in my mind! but it is bugging me.

I have noticed alot of other peoples cars squealing/sqeaking at the moment, could it be the weather?

Any pointers would be welcomed!

Thanks

Jason

did you use cooper grease on the back of your pads ? check the dust sheilds back of discs are touching the disc .  if you take your pads out and clean up face of pads with fine sand paper just to clean them up and re grease the pack of pads  stops brake squeal
