Hey everyone!!

After being a long suffering RenaultSport owner for 2-3 years (Clio R27 then Megane R26), I decided to change for some German 'reliability' and get a Golf Edition 30, which I picked up on Tuesday.

30 mins after picking it up, it went into limp mode, then 20 mins later, I lost all power and the car sounded like a tractor.  Long story cut short, I've had a week long battle with the supplying dealer (owned by Renault!) to get the car diagnosed properly and sorted under their warranty.

They have finally agreed to stop using back street garages who haven't a clue it seems, and pass it to VW Willenhall Coachcraft where it will hopefully now be sorted properly!

Anyway, once this hiccup is out of the way, I look forward to having a happy Golf ownership experience!!

Some of you may recognise my username from Detailing World (I've seen some I recognise over here already!) so I can't wait to get it back and get it detailed.  I'm also planning on getting bigger brakes, Milltek system, Stage 1 remap and KW V1's all within the next month or so.

Cheers,

Russ.

Hello, and welcome to the Forum

Sounds like your problem could possibly be either oil pick up pipe is blocked, or timing chain tensioner has packed up, both common faults, easily sorted..

Is the service history bang on?
Ed30's were often bought by people who could not afford them.
