Hi, I had a diagnostics check on my GTI 8v 1996 because i have what i think is a misfire (juddering when accelerating, mainly at low revs) Also when stationary and at tick over if i accelerate sharply the engine dies for a second then picks up. The diagnostics said that the hall sender unit is faulty and out of tolerance (it actually says on my receipt "00515 hall sender G40 signal outside tolerances") It costs £50 for the hall sender which i don't mind paying if it will cure the problem but the mechanic said the hall sender looks new and as i haven't had the car long i wouldn't know. My question is" Are the ECU diagnostic checks acurate? Thanks in advance for any help.
