Bought myself a mk5 gt140 diesel and i'm starting to go through it to sort a few things out. Any advice on any of this below will be much appreciated
Rattle or squeak sounds like its from bottom of windscreen area. Though anti roll bar links at first but it almost sounds like a dry rubber type sound? Checked arb links and removed screen trim to check suspension top mounts, nothing obvious.
Audio dissapears from front door when opened, both electric mirrors are dead and the heating part of them too. Not found anything specific but was going to check door harness where it plugs into the car in the door shut area. All fuses seem good although manual doesnt give me a good fuse layout. Any thoughts?
The car has rns 510, apparently when this was fitted and coded?? the cruise stopped working? would this sort of thing happen?
There is a rattle from what appears to be flywheel area, comes and goes. I have read about problems with dmf and a possible recall. Is there anywhere which lists the affected range so I can see if mine has had, or needs this?
And last one, previous owner had fitted hid lights on the dip beam in the normal headlamps but direct wired the bulbs and cut off the terminals, leaving me with no connections to the bulb holder on the lamp itself. vw say connectors are'nt sold spearate and i would need 2 new lamps. Anyone know where I can find these?
