Starting problem
« on: 12 April 2011, 21:46 »
Hopefully someone can help with this, the car is a mk3 92 1.4 golf

It seems that somthing is draining/using the power very quickly, the car will start fine from jump leads and runs great once its started, but it wont start from its own battery. I can hear the fuel pump and the solenoid click but thats it, if the battery is very well charged it will turn over a couple of times pretty slowly but not enough to start.

I've tried the usual, different battery, cleaned and replaced earths, checked the wiring around the starter motor, tried a different starter motor, tried a different ignition switch
Not sure what to try next? any help would be great
