Maintenance agreement or not?
« on: 06 April 2011, 16:56 »
Hope this is the right section, I did a search too and didn't come up with anything.

Leasing a 2011 1.6 TDI Bluemotion Match - 30k miles per year for 3 years.

The maintenance will be circa 50/60 p/m

Just reading threads about how much they con you for a service, at say 600 a year - do you reckon maintenance would be a good idea? Inc tyres ect.

Cheers!

I don't know what you mean by this?

Well while its under warranty for 3 years it has to be serviced at the time/distance stated by a reputable garage. I asked the price of a service when I ordered mine and they said the current rate is £150 so I had the 3 year service plan for £250.

I don't know where you got your £600 a year guesstimate from? As for a maintenance scheme that includes tyres I don't know where you got that from either?

As Keith says over 3 years that'll be 2 or 3 services for you = £300

You will probably need a set of tyres in that time too so call that £600

£900 over 3 years is £300 per year or £25 a month so £50/£60pcm is expensive.

Warranty will cover all else so I would say don't do it but put some money aside each month for the car fund - you'll benefit this way.
