mk3 brake servo swap?
« on: 25 August 2011, 12:27 »
I've noticed the mk1 boys upgrade the standard gti brake servos with mk2 16v jobbies to help with breaking, any reason I cant upgrade my 1.8 8v mk3 servo for a 2.0 8v/16v or vr6 item? are there differences? anyone on here done it?

I believe they are all the same so no point in changing.

When you upgrade your brakes you should change your master cylinder to the larger mm item.I do believe it is a 22.6mm you want.I cant remember but if you look at that link to my build thread i gave you the other day it is in there.
A later spec gti one bolts straight on,but if you go for a 2nd hand one make sure it hasnt got the output for a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder or you will have to blank it off.
