King lead (HT)
« on: 20 March 2011, 11:52 »
Can you buy just a king lead on its own? Its for a mk2 gti 16v. Got 12v at the coil, but no spark from the king lead.

All I've seen is just new sets. Pretty sure the last owner said ht leads where done the year recently.( one year ago now)

Edit. Just put the king lead on the head earthing points and got a spark, and an electric shock that felt like a punch to the chest  Can that be dangerous? Or is just a shock.

But was spark from the ht lead, or from the earthing point itself, as I had against my manifold and it wouldn't spark?

Stuff doing it again! Made me go all tingly! Just tried starting it again and had two complete combustions and smelt like burnt fuel. Got smoke coming out of my Induction it though. My hatred for the car is slowly coming back.

Think it's my coil tbh, shoved a screwdriver down there and look for a blue glow of the spark, but nothing. Ht look newish don't look battered or anything. Rather spend the £50 on the coil as that seems the prime suspect.
