help please ignition fault
« on: 02 February 2011, 15:42 »
 1986 GTI
8 valve
standard..
now she drove to work perfect , after an 11 hour shift wouldn't start , spins over great but no spark.
the AA said it could be the ignition module , now i have renewed that but still no spark
so i think it may be the hall / pulse sensor BUT
seems the hall sensor (the one inside the  dizzy) that is on mine GSF don't stock, neither do Euro car parts , apart from main dealers  any idea please where i could buy one from...?

HELP GTI down

 with huge thanks to Motor Parts Direct
who managed to source me (from Bosch Germany) a hall/pulse sensor for my old 1986 GTI K jet , with vacuum advance
she now starts and runs again
