You only need one on the passenger side or one central.

I thought passenger too but was told drivers side. Mines a gti by the way. Checked the circuit board that's fine... as iv changed it. Bulbs is fine as thats new toi. Wire connector had a little corrosion but cleared that up. As for the wiring the connector goes from my driver to the passenger which has a load of extra wires... Il get a photo... so honestly no idea! Lol

right.
checked the wiring last night and there was onlya small amount of power going to the light.... sems strange theres enough to power, indicator, reverse, brake light, normal light but not the fog.

its got a new board, new bulb, new fuse, all i havent changed is the wiring

the first photo shows the wiring from my drivers side

i followed the cable to the passenger side light (which is a mess!)
i had a towbar on there previously so thats what all the wiring is off
circled is where the wires from the drivers side go to

when pulled out the lights on the drivers side go out.

any help would be great got the mot retest monday and dont want to fail on that again.

see that grey/white wire on the passenger light cluster? where does it go. because that's the rear fog light wire colour, and i suspect its been bodged about as part of the towbar wiring.

lookign at the diagram it goes to pin 8 on the cluster on the passenger side? if so then i assume there is a jumper wire from there across to the driver side. this is probably where the issue lies. try putting a bulb in the passenger fog light housing, if it works you know you have power to the rear of the car at least
