Mk6 GTI accelerator pedal
« on: 17 February 2011, 13:15 »
Need some advice please if anyone can?

Got a MK6 Golf GT (160) and fitted GTI chrome pedals to the car just under 2yrs ago and never had a problem until this last week.

At the weekend my EPC warning light came on and VCDS show a fault with the accelerator pedal sensor. Now this has only come about since VW updated the software last week. Took the car in to get the problem sorted and they are now saying that they can't fit another GTI pedal because the it will not work due to it not being compatible with my model. And because the problem will re-occur I will have to have the standard pedal fitted instead. Does this make sense???

Any advice would be very much appreciated. TIA

Wow, the VW mechanic that looked at my car is absolutely hopeless!! Turns out that the connection to my pedal was slightly loose and he thought I needed a new pedal.  Car is working fine now.
