Mk 3 central locking problem

Hi wondered if anyone can help problem with my remote locking on
My cabby when you press the button makes the noise as if it gonna open
But doesn't you try afew times it does open any ideas? Thing is got no key holes in the handles and the only way in is to send one of the kids through the boot

I think the mk3 system runs off air pressure , makbe there is a leak somewere ? the pump is in the boot afaik

It's getting air to the lock I wondered if it was the lock itself?

might well be then m8. is enough air going to the lock to unlock it or is it maybe leaking at the lock side ?

I am gonna go to scrap yard tomoz  see if I can get a lock and try that the lock itself must have something inside it like a valve or something

funny enough that happened to my car i opened my petrol flap and notice that when i locked the car the locking pin would come out but the doors and boot wouldn't so i went in my boot got some one to lock to car (non remote) and tried following the air cable that runs from the pump towards the back right hand side seat and noticed that the air cable had been broken in half all i did was to cut both ends straight tape it together after putting heat shrink over the tube then pull the heat shrink over the tape and shrink it over the tape and now my central locking works a treat

Check and see if you have any broken pipes.
