hi everyone. i'm on my 4th Golf at the mo, i am 18 and been driving since i turned 17. the 1st is a red mk2 3 door 1.3 with exhaust off Gti & big bumpers. after that i got 5 door 1.6TD MK2 which has since died and i am in need of advice on how to sort the engine. i then got........ a mk3, in white, 5 doors, steel's and an auo box but it is 1.8 and that is for sale if any of your other halfs want a car. but now i am in need of a working car as i have sold the 1.3 MK2 and dont want to drive the MK3 as its only dont 51K n i want to keep it that way, plus its boring....  oh yeah the 4th car was a mk2 gti 8valve but was too far gone for me to sort out.

well thats about it on the car front, if any of you guys can help me with the 1.6TD engine that would be greatly appreaciated.

                   cheers,
                              Josh

Welcome to the site. If you want any parts etc then the best place to post would be in the Parts Wanted section as not everyone comes in here.
......now officially dubless.

the engine has done 138k miles and either oil is coming out of the head or/and fuel is coming form the injectors..... or perhaps not... it's the same sort of thing you would get if your timing was out so not all pistons get a spark.. therefor no power and not all pistons are firing... i think it's to do with the injector, the main part of it that is, if thats what its called?

has it had a timing belt recently ? chucking out and smoke when its running, at 133k compression might be down , tips of the injectors carboned up , is it leaking any fuel from anywhere ?

theres a bit of fuel from the arm that swings as you put your foot down, the bush is worn so it's a little wobbly.
i will check the compression as soon as i take the time to get in to it, everything is in each other parts way on this one. when i check the compression i will find out if the injectors are carboned up.
                        cheers

What colour, generally on diesels , blue = burning oil , white = timing or water , Black= over fueling
