Check brake pads light

Hi a light came on my dash saying check brake pad lights I have plenty of wear on my pads but the lights on does anyone no how to get it off. Thanks

You can disable the light via vag-com.

If you got plenty of pad, its usually one of two things wrong:

1) The sensor cable has broke
2) The pads do not have a wire going through them which breaks as your wear your pads down, causing the light to go on. It does however turn on quite early on your brakes even when there is still some good life left in the pads (good thing in a way as people usually don't change them ASAP and will do several more 1000 miles before they bother a change)

Ok thanks for that mite sound silly but where is the cable and if that has broke what would I have to do, get a new one or reconect it back together, and is vag com same as a diagnostic machine. Thanks

wire is on the top of the front pads.. if its split then you will have to leave it.. replace the pads.. or leave and get a garage to turn light off..
