mk5 gti mapping prob

hi
my car was tried to be remaped today and it has come up unknown ecu and the company said that if they still map it they cant
store the orignal map so if i have any probs they caqnt restore it back to standard

they said that there look into it and get back to me
 what would cause this :angry: :angry:

Maybe using wrong tools?  With the right tools and skills a good tuner can get around any situation.

The car could have and APR or Revo Trial remap which to basic tuning tools can cause issues by the ecu having "NO READ" tags which stop the ecu being read, there should be no issues with doing a write?  But the safe was would be carry out a BDM remap where the ecu gets read and backed up.

Which tuner did you use?
