mk3 colour concept shuddering!!!
« on: 19 January 2011, 18:28 »
I have managed to get my colour concept running again after being sold a dodgey set of leads but now its shuddering but not all the time just occasionally, i have put on a new dizzy, plugs, leads and no.30 relay.
It feels like it is not getting enough fuel when i put my foot down there is nothing just starts shaking and shuddering but it's not all the time just occasionally. Any advice please?

what make of bits are you fitting? still sounds like its missfiring, so if be looking at plugs, cap, leads and arm. if 1 set was dodgy out of the box id be wary of the new set, unless they're all known good quality make bits. i only use bosch/beru for ignition parts, or ngk

GSF sells a decent set - for about £32 + vat a set. I think its part “92631F” desc “IGNITION LEAD SET-BQ G3 1.6/1.8/2.0 GTI 8V”

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

The leads plugs etc are bosch £70 +vat the car seems to be getting worse and i can't even take over now on the motorway. Replaced relay no.30 because it seems like it is being starved of petrol. There is plenty of petrol coming through as i took the pipe off and it did,nt seem like it was being resticted in any way, it went everywhere.
  Any ideas please????
