Rear number plates

My dad, grandad and uncle all have had mk3 glfs n get annoyed by the same problem as me. Why do the rear number plates bubble all the time. I cant be bothered replace it becuase in 2 months time its bubbled again? anyone else find this annoyin or have a remmedy cheers

How about trying to smear clear silicone sealer around the edge of the number plate ;)
May work then again may not

mine hasnt.. maybe because its not been drilled... i've used those fat sticky pads from halfords to hold mine in place
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

ive never had that prob, weather there stuck, ir screwed on,
do tou get them from the same place all the time?

Mine does it to, I reckon its because the plastic bit that the number plate lights are hidden in has a crappy seal so on top of the spray from the road hitting the plate you get a steady trickle of water running on the top of the number plate degrading the adhesive.

Mine will prob fail on mot next time but unless it does im not replacing it as it will only fook up again!!!

I thought of something today to solve this dont know if others have this plastic surrounds for the plate should stop water gettin at it i think if it was sealed wat u reckon?
