vr6 stuttering

hi,
i have a '97 vr6 that stutters at idle and sometimes up to 3000revs, it feels like it is wet but does it even when it has been dry for weeks. it only does it if i have not used the car for a week or so, i have replced the ~HT leads but no joy. does anyone have any ideas?

Hi mate had similar probs with mine , factory leads aren't the best check for arcing on plugs whilst running. Next is the plugs check to see if coked up ( as mine were ) clean em if necc and check em after 1000 miles or splutter returns if so then engine work is required ( as mine does! ). Try a compression check to see if heads giving up also coil packs can cause similar symptoms but cost a bloody fortune so be 1000% sure before you buy!!!
 Some suffer fueling issues in chambers but not too sure about that area , dealers can do diagnostic on it but even they guess on this and use elimination process,which can get expensive!!!
