wheres the best place to get a gearbox

hi guys i was just wondering where is the best place to buy a gearbox or even a reconditioned gearbox for my mk3 gti 8v standard issue with reverse popping out. cheers

Reconditioned gearboxes are expensive, i'd look in a scrappy for a second hand one. Ideally there will be a car that was driven in and is still useable so you can have a quick drive round the yard to make sure reverse works and theres not crunching of gears etc.
