PS3 hdmi problem

a mate of mine has the 250gb slim ps3 (he's had it since march) which wont let him use a hdmi cable, we've been thru the settings and still nothing. we've tried anonther cable and tried it on a different tv and still dont work, any ideas y

It's obviously knackered then. If he got it in march it should still be under warranty, quick call to sony and they will exchange the console. 08705 99 88 77

Offered to exchange mine just because lovefilm player says I don't have a fast enough internet connection, even though I get 11mb/sec.

you need to reset the settings on it, as it happened to me on my parents 40" lcd from my 32" so took it back to the working tv and changed the settings to basic and back to the 40 and it worked fine. or google ps3 reset (NOT FORMAT!!!)

When u turn it on just hold the on button for 5 secs should pick it up then
