Pedals tapping
« on: 06 January 2011, 20:26 »
Hi all, I posted on here a while ago but couldn't find the original thread. I get a strange tapping through my pedals and have been living with it for a while now. By accident, I stumbled upon something that may be causing it. I think it's the steering column, as when I push down on the top or bottom of the steering wheel, it stops. I have not had a proper look yet as it's dark when I leave for work, and dark when I get home, but plan to on Saturday. Does anyone know why this would happen, or anything it could possibly be to help me out with identifying where exactly it's comin from. Cheers

I'm guessing at this dude so don't quote me on this. Sounds like some thing has came lose. your pedals are all in the same unit and possibly could be that. unfortunately it sounds like a dash out job. I've never taken one out a golf before, so don't know where so start. Buy a Haynes manual and you can't go wrong if you follow it

mine does this, have you got the adjustable steering and can you move it when locked in. i believe there is a bush off some sort down where the steering goes into the engine bay. i have not got to the bottom of it yet. If you find out please post replie.
