After debating whether to come back or not - curiosity got the better of me and I came back to see if anyone had chucked their dummies out (but they havent!).
As for the 1.8 bully-brigade - bog off. I'm an Ex- Prison Officer who's dealt with more menacing 15 year olds than you, so go pick on someone else please :)

To those who asked, yes the mileage and MOT's and servicing were all there, had proof of, even called up the garages etc to make sure, aswell as the usual checks to see if it was previously a write-off, stolen etc - I can't believe how lucky I was, all legitimate!

Thank you to those who've offered advice...I'm VERY poor at the moment as I've just set up my own business but I've put the new stereo in my car (what a f**k-about) just awaiting the "pocket" from interparts so that I can finish it off - got myself a Kenwood one with USB port so the iPhone is connected pretty much all the time now - which is great. When I cleaned the Yaris out to be sold I counted nearly 400 CD's that I took out of it! I love minimalism!

The only problems I've found on the car are that my rear washer jet doesn't work - I thought of taking the wiper off altogether but I struggle without being able to see out the rear windscreen so I need to get it fixed, and that my windscreen has 2 chips in it, and there is a small spot of rust, probably the size of a small pea on the roof at the back, on the driver's side - which I'm not too sure how I go about getting sorted. It's been touched up,but there is a crack in it.

Sadly my Uncle has gone to work for Triumph so no discount on alloys! Would kill for some multispoke alloys...although I have actually been debating white multipspokes...but only debating.

I want to paint the engine cover first, like Smitty did on the yellow golf... and get some other bits n bobs colour coded...hard to do anything though at the moment due to cashflow!

I can't believe how much attention I'm getting in this car...I've been collared by 2 traffic police officers in the last week, telling me what a beautiful car it is and saying how amazing the condition of it is for a 10 year old motor (which makes a change from me getting pulled at least once a day in my old Focus for - Theft, Arson x2, Burglary, Drugs, and numerous stop & searches), not to mention random people coming up to me in petrol stations etc. Even other VW drivers have given me the thumbs up when they've driven past me - all very surreal!

I'm still finding my feet with it really, not even had it over 70mph yet - although I'm debating a quick blatt up the airfield to see just how far I can push it. After driving the focus for the last 6 months - this is a dream.

Easily pleased? Yeaaaah - best £4k I've ever spent :)

That's just standard Abingdon and Didcot poleece procedure for Ford drivers
As I own a Ford I know the torment this brings

Don't let the haters get you down, there are worse cars you could own (Focus for example) :afro:

There is a Oxon club btw, http://dubcluboxford.multiforums.org/
They have monthly meets in Abingdon. I've never been as I've not got a dub any more

Glad you are enjoying the new car.

However, you can't honestly say you are skint if you have an iphone, new kenwood stereo and spend 4k on a car?
Or is that why you are skint?
Better batter on with the mod's then

These are cheap, cheerful and the first ones I happened across...

Welcome, golfs are a thing of beauty arent they  i didnt really understand the advert, "why have something like a golf when you can have a golf" until i bought one.

just ignore the shallow peeps on here they soon get board and start on someone else :D

if you intend on keeping the car your better of getting all the repairs done before any mods, as for mods dont no what looks best on a mk4, but i like a front splitter and roof spoiler, BUT please dont put a de-badged grill on, they look terrible on a mk4 cause of the of the badge location on the bonnet.

have you got some pics of the car??

as for people smilling and giving the old thumbs up, is it you or the car

ps, whats your business??
