Vr6 running rough only when warm?! any advice?
« on: 09 January 2011, 12:50 »
Hi
Over the christmas period, my car was snowed in, and i mean to the point where i couldnt see it and it took a whille to dig out. After then ive had nothing but trouble with it. The symtoms are asthough its strugggling to go and sounds like a beetle and judders in 5th gear on the motorway when doing 70mph.

And after juddering the car pushes out a massive bang from the exhaust then while drive fine for about 5 minutes. Sometimes it will drive fine from cold but when warm or past a certain temp it will do this. I put 20 pound in yesterday at the fuel station, it was driving sort of okay just a little juddering but when i put 20 pounds in the tank it drove crap.

ive changed the plugs i have a fuel filter and oil filter im going to change, the fuel filter looks as if it hasnt been changed by the look of it, but any other ideas anyone could have?

I took the air intake apart to get to the throttle body and it was oily substance all around it, i cleaned what i could and opened the throttle paddle but still the same.

I also changed the MAF sensor and still no change!!!!

i have a budget but im not taking it any further i need to know waht it is rather than trial and error route..

Thanks in advance

leads would be on my list, plus the dizzy cap and rotor arm if it has one. ideally get it plugged into vag-com
