Anyone qualified to do a full respray???
« on: 24 December 2005, 12:11 »

Hi Im new to this site. Just purchased a Gti T 180bhp Mk4. Its in indigo blue. Ideally I wanted it in black but i had a good price. Im now looking for someone to spray the car black for me so its how I want it. Dont really wanna pay loads at a body shop. Anyone know someone who is good at spraying, qualified preferably, and would do a home visit if i supplied the paint?? Thanks !

You'd of been better of buying a black one!!! i damaged my celica once, got paid insurance, had a bit left over so i got the whole car resprayed... BIG MISTAKE, i paid top doller for it.. just didnt look right. My advice, either buy a black one, or live with the color you got!....

Yeah keep it blue mate, to do it tidy in black you will have to strip it back to the shell, and what about the engine bay? Are you gonna remove the engine :undecided:

Good point didnt think it was as complicated. Im prob gonna sell it after the new year and get a black Tdi, anything from 115bhp will do me. These days im more into the looks than the power..........I just thought a ful respray would be easy enough but after researching ive noticed there are many things to consider!
