swapping front and back leccy window motors

hi just a quick and maybe daft question!

is it possible to swop the back drivers side leccy window motor (on a 5 door) to the front drivers side as my front motor has packed up!!!!

I had a suspected motor fault on the driver's door of my VR6 (Window operation got slower and slower, then stopped altogether).

In the end it turned out to be the cable mechanism instead (?50 from VW)

Try removing your front motor from the mechanism, plugging it in and see whether it turns.
