Swiftcover - Mk3 16v - 26yr old -- Edit: Back to HIC

Best quote so far from Swiftcover at £870 Fully Comp. Just posting this for the benefit of others to check it out as the normal price comparison websites didn't show a result from these guys. I've spent most of my day off today ringing up for quotes from the little specialists to the bigger groups.

I've always declared everything but Swiftcover state they don't mind a stainless steel exhaust or light/lamp modifications as long as they are legal and approved so nothing went up further (I have a Jetex and M3 rears)
:)

HIC TPFT renewal was £1399. Th fully comp price was no better.
Chris Knott couldnt do it under the forum deal because I had a Mk3 1.8 prior to my Mk3 16v. Had a Mk2 16v as a first car so though I'd get away with it :)
Everyone else wanted me to go away by saying £1700 and above.

To put in to perspective I'm 26, (touches wood) have 5 years no claims, clean license, CAT 1 Toad and live in North London.

I really feel sorry for you young uns around. I was so close to giving up until I saw the Swiftcover advert on a random website!

Rang up HIC again and am really happy. Booted my mum off the quote and got it cheaper than Swiftcover. Strange how adding a driver can decrease it with some insurance companies and increase it with others. Just when you think you understand the system it confuses you more!

So I'll be paying 820 TPFT. I fudging hate Admiral for advising me to take out the bonus accelerator scheme. They would see me as having 5 years NCB however in reality I only have 4 (doh) and if I went back to them it was still 1400.

Thank you HIC, gave good advice and genuinely wanted to help me get a cheaper quote. If HIC are reading this I spoke to Crystal (sp) I think, she was very helpful :)

Just to pick up on what Leon said about the bonus accelerator scheme that admiral/bell/elephant offer, i'm insured with Bell at the moment on a bonus accelerator policy. The 2 years prior to this policy have been 12 month policies, would HIC view this as 3 year NCB or 2 years?
