Spoke to a reputable body shop who quoted £250 for the following work. Plastic panel removed, tack welds to affected part to allow it to be pulled out, small amount of filler to achieve perfect finish, prime and paint, heat plastic panel (in the event that it has been de-formed) and re-fit to car.
Damage is not particulary noticable, but my eyes are drawn to it as i know it's there. I think the price is reasonable for the work involved so i think i will get it booked in. Once repaired i can hopefully forget it ever happened
Not a bad price for that sort of repair Steve, sounds like they intend to be quite thorough, and for the money it probably isn't any more expensive than an excess payment on an insurance claim.
