Wiper Stalk

Need to replace my wiper stalk, I've got a replacement stalk and reading the Haynes Book of fiction it's a steering wheel off jobby to replace. Will I need a new steering wheel nut o can I reuse the old one and what's the technique to align the wheel back to where it was and not to cock!

no need to replace the nut, and to make sure its straight is very simple. make sure the wheel is straight before you take it off, and put it back on straight when you're done!

tip for you, loosen the nut but dont remove it fully.  give the wheel a few good yanks to free it off, then remove wheel and nut. this stops you smashing yourself in the face with the wheel :)
