Really quick boot lifters Q
« on: 15 December 2010, 12:04 »
Recently changed them on my saxo & I think they were exactly the same as on my mk2 (can't check now as at work)

Are mk3 ones identical?

not sure on a MK3, but I can tell you the lifters off SEAT Ibiza MK3 99-01 fit perfect and are quite a bit stronger since the boot on them weighs a ton. even brand new they struggle to open the boot

so get down scrappy and pinch some, even if SEAT boot seems slow to open they'll do your MK2 boot no problem. I know cos i bought new vag ones for our biza and they were just as bad as the old ones. put old ones on the MK2 and it has no probs opening the boot even with my mdf stealth shelf attached :)

Good to know, I'm home now & checked and if anyone else needs to ever replace them, saxo / 106 boot struts are exactly the same & these are very easy to find!
