Did the wishbone with rear bush last year and replaced the lower balljoints few months ago. Didnt have a torque wrench though. Does anyone actually torque all these up or just do them damn tight?

the only thing thats has to be torqued up properly are the head bolts, every other nut and bolt just can be done up as tight as possible as my mate says whos a mechanic

Fail. Torque all bolts as per the recommended settings.

I torque everything, as before I had a torque wrench, I had a habit of over tightening bolts and shearing them, plus, it gives you much more confidence knowing it has been tightened up to the correct settings. You can get a Laser torque wrench for about £20, or one of the Halfords Pro ones for about £70 (don't drop them, or store tensioned).

Did you replace the metal sleeve that sits inside the rear wishbone bush? Without it, it will rattle something awful.

Also, my Golf used to eat cheap ball joints, being lowered 70mm takes its toll on some components, ball joints being one of them.
