Service Indicator on instrument panel-Help!

Dear All,

Got an S reg Mk4, the service indicator keeps appearing on my instrument panel. I have followed the manual on how to reset and have got to the point where the display reads service and then 3 dashes,I then turn ignition off as manual,manual states it is reset etc etc. I then turn on the iginition again and the same message appears service oil, it does disappear when you drive vehicle for a while!. It is nothing major but just annoying, does anyone know how to get rid of the display each time I turn on the igntion?. Am I doing something wrong???

Surely it can't be that the car just needs servicing is it

Mate i'm really hoping for you that you've serviced the car yourself and just wanna turn the dash reminder off, as if it's not you in for a good forum hammering

Have you checked the oil??
It might be theres not enuff
