VW bluetooth kits?

I was going to post this question on Darren's thread but it's locked unfortunately. When retro fitting an oem bluetooth kit, can the box go where it would from the factory? And where is this? Or does it have to go down the back of the climate controls ala fiscon?

Dependent on the supplier of the loom it may be long enough to go to the factory position, which is under the drivers seat in a foam box (about £7 from the stealers).

Otherwise it works just fine behind the headunit.
