You cant go wrong with a quality exhaust system including a sports cat or de-cat. I have a milltek which I can highly recommend. Then there's upgrading your standard engine parts ie DV,plugs, filter etc then you'll be ready for a re-map. A stage one re-map with some simple mods will take the bhp up to approx 195-210. Forge make a good replacement DV,the 007, which is a recirculating DV, you can't/shouldn't put a atmospheric DV on a golf if you didn't know.As for filters, if your keeping your standard panel filter set up then I suggest a pipercross filter. Or you can get a cold air induction kit.  Depending on where you are or if your willing to travel you should speak to the lads at R-TECH about the re-map. There's loads of build threads to look at on here to give you ideas and the GOLFGTi members are full of advice and tips.

Check out the site classifieds for parts etc. You get some great bargains!
www.Awesome-gti.co.uk is a great site for parts, styling etc but they are quite expensive.

Also if your serious about a re-map and go to R-Tech then they sell and fit all the performance upgrades you'll need with some great advice too. www.r-techpower.co.uk

Welcome to GOLFGTi.co.uk

I think I was quoted £250 but that was a while ago. You'd be better off giving them a ring. You can ask a question on the R-TECH section but its faster to ring them. Prices depend on engine code I think, I may be wrong but either way the answers just a phone call away
