mk2 VR's stock Diff or ?
« on: 11 November 2010, 14:33 »
Just wondering four those that have got mk2 vr's , are you running an aftermarket diff? whats the original one like?

I've got my vr at home on the bench undergoing a rebuild , specing up weather to get get saving for one ? in my 8v i know the rules of dont steer and turn heavly , but im really finding even long swept corners say in 2nd the inside wheel can spin up unreal , let alone the understeer and wet ,

Telling it to do one thing at a time works great but if i want to really go four it then im finding the traction problems , i have got some yoko  prada's in very good con and its always to inside wheel so Diff related ,

Could it be the heavy foot or with the added power of a VR will i find this problem worse if left with the stock differential

yep a wheel will spin up if you floor it in second around a bend, but im not sure why you'd want to drive like that often enough to warrant an aftermarket diff.

mine used to wheel spin like mad when pulling away, but new suspension sorted that. the rear suspension was knackered (so was far too soft) and the weigh would shift to the back, reducing the weight over the front wheels.

and mine is on the stock diff

I don't think a semi will give the same results
