PD150 camshaft issues

Well my turn now for this problem...... :cry:

Ive searched the site (and the links to other sites) and read loads of threads.

Can those who have had this issue tell me where they got their camshafts from (Genuine, Volkswagen spares, AW Enginering etc) and if they had any problems with them wearing.
Also what followers/lifters did you go for (black/silver genuine or aftermarket).

A lot of people use AW Engineering for the camshafts.

Thanks Andy seen that name mentioned a few times.

My questions are more to find out has anyone had any problems with non-genuine replacements. I dont want to have to pay for this twice because parts are maybe not up to the job!! Its going to be expensive enough the first time  :cry:

How about buying a second hand 130/150 head? £300 a time over the £1200 it can cost. Not sure on the non-gen items but I'm sure someone will know here.

Replied to your PM John but as I said I'm not even sure you can get after-market followers etc  :undecided:

The followers were revised by VW so its worth getting those as you know you'll never have the problem again (in theory!)

i got the cam kit from aw engineerign 250 quid cash fitted it and its done 10k miles so far and its bang on mate

Where the lifters in the kit the black ones or silver??
