That is a lovely mk1, shame its the 1.6.

Not really the 1.6 is a great engine the 1.8 was no quicker.

The 1.6 was much more of free revving engine, it revved more like a 16v.
Why though i wasn't sure?

Did you know it had a flat head with the combustion chamber in the piston, I think it was rev happy due to the short stroke.

Ok, that figures
I always thought the 1.6 was better to drive than the 1.8.

That car is so lovely, but I could never own it.  I'd wanna slam it, but it would be criminal to do mod a car like that.

Everytime I spotted this I couldn't see the link because I was at work........

nice and original, how all the 1600s should be... over priced though due to it having to be tarted up... not enough pics either, want to see what the engine is like etc.. nice low miles though.. all i can say is good luck getting that money for it, maybe in a few years.

I did think it was a little tarted up, when you look at the arch pictures you can see where he has brush painted it and hit the pipework.

Definately a car you'd need to see close up.

The 1.6 was slightly lower geared had peak torque much higher so needed reving, Its more like a 16V yes but needed stirling into life. I find the 1.8 is much easier to drive due to its torque band.
The 1.6 is more fragile its why you often see them with 1.8s in as they were not the stongest engine.
IMO if you go for a 1.6 it has to be an S1 :smug: Series 2s are just not special enough.
That cars been on there so many times.
