Another mk2 newby
« on: 19 October 2010, 14:14 »
Hi all, just joined recently. My name is Rob and i currently drive a mk5 & mk2 gti - the mk5 is the family motor and the mk2 is my project and future weekend toy. The mk2 is a 3dr 91 8v bright blue metallic but has a 2.0 8v fitted from a mk3, the plan is to turn it into a abf 16v eaton charged monster or run itb's. The parts i've bought so far:
G60 arches new
g60 brakes
g60 arch liners
g60 wings
goodridge brake lines
16v badges all round and arial
abf motor
seat abf gearbox
loom
ecu & clocks
bbs rm's - need a refurb and extented to 8 x 15 using s/s lips
momo corse steering wheel & boss
All the above still needs fitting. Would like electric recaro seats to finish it off but ran out of money!!

Thanks all for the nice welcome. The car is currently sorn and off the road at the moment until i save up a few notes to refurb the RM's and a minor spray job (g60 wings and passenger side sill repair). I live in Workington up in Cumbria so it probably wasn't this car you seen, surely there can't be many on the road in this colour?
