MK4 99 V5 Starting problems 150bhp
« on: 02 November 2010, 06:39 »
Hi guys i really need some help with my jinxed V5. I was driving the car on the motorway yesterday when all of a sudden the car just lost power, cut out and then refused to start. Had to wait an hour for The AA and in that time the battery had run flat. When they tried to jump start the car the tow guy said that there was a petrol smell and had to tow my car home. Have tried starting it again but keep smelling petrol, does anyone know what this can be?

Get the coil pack changed on it.

If this doesn't work then it's time to change the ignition amplifier.

I replaced both mine on the V5 toledo I had, and after that it ran perfect.
