Help me! gearbox is playing funy tunes

Drove in to work today and the gearbox started to lock up on me! then it cleared, since then i have a noise very much like a heatsheild loose! but its happens when driving along and its speed related!

The golf is a mk2 16v GTI, has been lowered running on 15's with 195 50 15. i have ask many people and they have said gearbox! but i dont belive them!

Please help

When your driving and its making the noise dip the clutch and if it stops its got to be the drive train.
