MFA settings
« on: 10 October 2010, 15:49 »
hi i noticed on my mk2 gti 8v on the same arm that controls the windscreen, it has some setting the button on the end changed the screen on the mfa telling me mpg and info, but it had a slide button on it which had 0 1 2 on it and i notice if hold it to 0 it resets but what do 1 and 2 do, are they engine settings?

Thanks

settings 1 & 2 allow you to switch between displays.  By that I mean, 1 & 2 both display exactly the same MFA data, but give you the option of keeping one set of trip information, while resetting and using the other.

For example, setting 1 you can use for long term trip info, say what you do in a period of time, while you can switch and use setting 2 for one off trip data.

Hope that makes sense.

other way round, 1 is current trip, 2 is long term info since last reset.  holding the switch all the way towards 1 or 2 resets the data for the short or long term info depending which way you hold it
