HELP REQUIRED - ABF 16v - AIR FILTER BOX
« on: 01 October 2010, 17:07 »
Right, is this the correct code: VW PART NUMBER 1HO 129 607D

And is this how the 16v ABF Air Filter Box looks like?

I only ask as ive bought one off ebay to do the drilled airbox mod on and obviously re-fit ... I never had an original airbox in my car, bought mine with a K&N which I added a Heat Shield and Cold Air Feed too ... and now I fancy fitting some lower fog lights, which means the cold air feed must go, so need to sell the K&N/Heatshield/Air feed and fit an original airbox.

What other bits are needed? Obviously the MAF and Piping is still in my car as the K&N's fitted at the end of it ... but anything else missing or required?

That's an 8v box. The 16v box has a plastic tube extra where the 8v MAF would be, in that tube there is a hole for the intake air temperature sensor to go. Bottom half is the same, but top half is different.

il take a photo of the one i have now as when i bought my car i asked for the original airbox so i could do that mod.
when looking in mine though it seems to have two inlet ports (one at the front and one in the back) and a sort of vaccum pump or something in the bottom of it! the phto will explain better than me tomorrow!
