1.9TD AAZ - Over Heating

1.9TD AAZ - Over Heating. New head installed, Water pump impellor turning when manually turning crank. I have removed the T\Stat to try & narrow down. Water is still getting to past boiling point. Water runs freely through radiator. Do these engines have a common blockage area? any help much appreciated

have a read of the cooling system guide in the mk2 maintenance section, in particular replace cap and check water flows out of the thin hose to header tank when engine revved when cold
