put a replacement engine and gearbox in and i cant get the longer driveshaft to reach the flange on the gearbox. It seems about an inch too short. The other driveshaft is fitted fine. Any ideas  :huh:

give the cv a gentle pull. they do have a fair bit of in and out movement on them. is the engine sat in the right place>?

when you say replacement, what was the old engine, what is the new engine and what car did it come from
