FMIC today, couple Q's
« on: 20 September 2010, 21:59 »
fitted  intercooler today the ebay one!! bout a map sensor mount from forge, was expecting fitting to be worse than what it was, had to cut one of the alloy pipes though.

i drilled through the cross bar and bolted cooler straight to it, the bumper is definatley not going to go back on no matter how much i cut, (without cuttin the face of bumper)

didnt need to remove washer bottle

are the R32 bumpers abit more spacious? do they stick out foward more than the standard one???

249 bypass, ths fr3 engine mounts, S/S decat, 2.5'' straight through exhaust, induction kit, forge split r, coilovers, 18'' alloys, much more in the pipeline

it fits under the cross member, its inline with the cross member (dosent stick out past it)

how much more room do you have with the r32 bumper??

you shouldnt need to butcher the front bumper that much mate.. have you moved the cross member or anything ?? you get quite a bit more room with r32 bumper and they would require no trimming really but at like £250+ a secondhand bumper they not cheap..

weld a bit of flat bar to the cross member and mount the intercooler further back, thats what i should have done.. might do it at some point in life..
heres what i did, by the way, the first pics are with the intercooler mounted upside down!

The r32 front bumper weather its genuine or a replica requires trimming. Well I got ths fmic and had to trim some of my rep bumper. Topher had forge fmic and he has had to trim his  genuine r32 front bumper
Gone but still keeping a close eye on it...
