hi all. just picked up a scuffy but useable mk3 gti 16v for 50 quid! been standing in a field on a sorn for a while, no mot but it went through with a few bits and pieces. i know nowt about these cars (hence the question mark!), but that's why i'm here, and i may be looking for some spares in the near future! hope it's not considered rude to ask questions on an introductory post, cos i've got 2
... where would i find the colour code for this car? i've looked under the bonnet and in the door shuts, but can only find the vin plate on the slam panel and something in german? it's a metallic green, but looks lighter than the "dragon green" which is the only one my local halfords had in stock! also, i've managed to source a radiator fan from a scappie as mine is siezed, well melted - does it matter that it's not from a gti? it looks the same as mine, a single electric unit (no aircon) from a cl i think. thanks in advance for any help, i'll get some pics up when it's looking a wee bit tidier!
