oil leak and idle problem
« on: 12 August 2010, 17:58 »
hello gents (and ladies),
i have a recently purchased 8v 2.0 1996 Mk3 GTi. sometimes she starts first kick and idles like a beauty. next time you need plently of juice to keep her going. any hints how to locate the problem and how to fix?
also, have an oil leak from the oil pressure sensor (i assume thats what it is) on the side of the block. when i squeeze the rubber boot, it is filled with oil. should i panic? is there a quick fix?
please be gentle with me, its my first golf. i have scanned through the search option but cant find anything related (although, i'm a bit thick)
any help would be great.
cheers big ears!

With your oil pressure switch, you can grab a new one from a motorfactors for about £7 - just unscrews and screw the new one in.
Project longterm Airbanger.
