Bhp of my golf
« on: 31 July 2010, 02:39 »
I've just bought a Golf 20v Turbo, and it feels really guick.

Basically I was wondering, if anyone can "roughly" guess how much BHP it has.

Its a AGU engine, with a KO3s turbo, RamAir cone filter, J valve, FMIC, Lightened flywheel, VR6 Clutch, and a Stage 1 remap.

It feels much faster than my old astra turbo, which was running 200bhp.

Im going to book it in at R-tech for a full check, and rolling road session.

180bhp as standard. With a remap, probably 200-220 bhp?

I noticed it also has a full system, from the turbo back, including the decat.

It feels much quicke than 220bhp.

Its got a k03s, itll be around 220-240 bhp all dynos are different, but 225bhp is the normal figure. With torque figures being around 240bhp, turn up the boost and youll get more torque.

As said just take to to r-tech and get one of there remaps on it, a stage one remap from the likes of revo say 210bhp get a custom remap and have more boost, like 260 lb, person on audi sport had 280 lb torque at one point but was running mega boost and turned it down in the end for the sake of his turbo as no doubt it was spiking very bad.!

Get a custom remap on it has that is a good set up, get a silicone tip aswell and that'll fly, faster than a stage one s3

At the moment the boost sits on 24psi.

Whats the silicone tiop? It does have quite abit of silicone pipes under the boneet :)

24psi with correct lambda and nice timing ect would see around 260lbft,  its the torque what makes the car feel quick.

silicone tip is the intake pipe going from the airbox ? induction kit to the engine, it probally does have a silicone one as doubt a normal one would handle 24psi, bet that does fly with 24 psi ! you may still have 230bhp same as other people but most seem to get just 240lb from a remap as the remapper might not do it as high to protect the turbo.
