« on: 31 July 2010, 18:34 »
 The story so far..
Looking for a cheap run around found a 8valve gti black lots of miles  :lipsrsealed: 180 000 £410.
bodywork reasonable interior ok. full service history upto 150 000
Buy the car its running a bit rough but needs a service so think that may sort it   it dosent.
Stumble across the forum  loads of info
Change mass air sensor better but still not right.
Change dizzy cap, rota and leads to try and cure the 5k limit (it happened all of a sudden one day).
Clear codes Hall sensor fault ok will replace nXt week when I get paid.
Yesterday cluch went all dodgey no first, its done it before and kind of fixed itself not now though, new clutch cable now ok.
Oh forgot to mention replaced power steering pipe from pump to steering rack in the first week and also front engine mount (mount snapped pipe fractured, powersteering fluid all over road)

So its getting there Thanks to the forum realy as I didnt have a clue for most of it.

Anyway thanks guys for a great, informative forum
