GTI 8v struggles to start after stall

Just got a GTI 8v after blowing the gearbox up on my 1.4 match after the Nurburgring...
I find the clutch quite heavy with a small bite point (i'm still getting used to it).
With this in mind, its not uncommon to stall! The problem is, when I go to start again, it takes a good 3 seconds for it to start again, sometimes only when I press the throttle...
Anybody know what this could be?

my 8v used to do this but could be down to a few things

dirty throtle bodie
faulty temp sensor
faulty maf

id start with getting a vag com on it and see if it throws any faults up.
