It took you long enough to come back, did you look all of that up?
Anyhow i agreed its worth checking, just pointing out to the OP the quickest way to diagnose a failed water pump is checking the heater.
I think OP's problem is either the expansion cap valve has failed or as you said, the small hose could be blocked.
